Experts Modern Survey and Global Lead Management Consulting Selected to Lead Work

April 30, 2007 (Minneapolis) - An “Opinion Survey on Campus Climate” was initiated today by the University of St. Thomas to continue charting a successful path in the area of diversity. Use of an online survey tool along with study methodology improvements track changes over a previously conducted study.

University President Father Dennis Dease stated in a university-wide communication, “Understanding students, faculty and staff perceptions of our environment will be invaluable in assisting us to structure programs and initiatives that target the real barriers and challenges.”

“Results [from prior studies] indicate that the University of St. Thomas made improvements and faced new challenges,” added Dr. Lawrence Potter Jr., executive director of institutional diversity. “All questions have been validated and tested for reliability.” Dr. Potter explained in reference to the expertise involved to plan and pre-test the upcoming survey.

“We are confident their deployment of a web-based tool will return meaningful results for decision-makers with greater speed and reporting flexibility than in the past,” said Jennifer Halstead, director of business development at Modern Survey. “We are sensitive to the immediacy of data collection and, in turn the analysis and reports available once the survey is closed.”
